Many companies world wide use freelance developers and we have also previously used many freelance developers from various companies.
Our experience is that companies are taking a big risk by using upstackhq.com and that the best and safest choice for many reasons is to hire a local developer og go with a company that logs the work of their freelancers.
By hiring a local developer you do not only have control of the developer and know who the person is, you also support the local community.
There are companies that are more safe than others and do have some control of their developers like Upwork or toptal and then there are companies where in our opinion are taking a big risk if they hire freelancers.
The worst of them all based on our experience and knowledge is upstack.
1) Upstackhq.com developers
We have been working with upstackhq.com, toptal and upwork and we can without a doubt say that you take the biggest risk by working with upstack developers.
They do not log the work by the developers or check up on them in a way that can make you feel safe as a customer.
That means that you have no idea if the developer is laying on the couch or actually working while you pay him.
You also have no idea of the quality of the work done as upstack refuse to share the reports from the code checks. Checks they only do if you ask them and that seems to always show perfect code and that the developers are amazing.
Even at a company like upwork where you can find developers that cost 1/10 of the price the offer to log the work of the developers. so you can feel safe and don’t end up paying for nothing.
So working with upstackhq.com developers is in our experience a big risk both in terms of security and being sure to get quality of work.
2) Upstack jobs
Upstack is constantly looking for new developers but how well do they test them?
Much point towards that it is the safe choice to hire your own local developer that you know for sure who is and you are not taking a chance with a developer no one really knows who is and what he does.
3) Upstackhq.com and the chinese or russian gouverment
It seems like there are a risk that devalpers from upstack could be also working for the russian and chinese gouverment.
